Types of collaborations and editorial guidelines:

• ARTICLE

The article should be an unpublished text based  on from research related to  the theme of the journal.
Submitted articles s should contain between 25.000 to 45.000 characters (doublespaced).
On the first page of the article please include: title of the article; in Portuguese, in English and in French (in bold, to the left), author’s name, e-mail, institutional affiliation; summary and abstract of the article (maximum 300 words). The article must contain between 3 and 5 index terms.

 

• REVIEW

Review articles can be submitted which review either classic work or recently published works in the area of literacy or the foundations of literacy .
Review articles should be between 5.000 to 12.500 characters doublespaced.

The first page of the review article should include: title of the review; in Portuguese, in English and in French (in bold, to the left); bibliographical references of the specified work (author, title, edition city, publisher, dates from the first edition, dates from the reviewed work,number of pages of the work and when translated, the title in the original language, publisher, city and translator); the review authors name, e-mail, institutional affiliation; summary and abstract of the review (maximum 150 words).  The review must contain between 3 and 5 index terms.

 

• THE SUMMARY

Summary articles can be submitted based on theses, dissertations, books or monographs in the area of the literacy or foundations of the literacy.
Summaries should be between 2.500 to 7.500 characters and doublespaced .
The first page of the summary article should contain its title ; in Portuguese, in English and in French (in bold, to the left), the name of the author of the summary e, its institutional affiliation , e-mail, summary of up to 100 words of the author's bio, summary and abstract of the summary (maximum 150 words) and from three to five word-key, in Portuguese, in English and in French, about the correspondent material . The summary must contain between 3 and 5 index terms.

 

• INTERVIEW

Interview articles with specialists related to the theme of the journal or with indirect collaborators concerning the development of literacy countries where Portuguese is the official language.
Interview articles will be accepted ranging between 5.000 to 10.000 characters doublespaced.

The first page of the interview article should include the title of the interview article, a brief bio of the interviewee and of the interviewer (maximum 300 words each) and photographs of those involved of up to 1800 KB file-size.

 

“THE LIVES’ HISTORIES”

Will be accepted from Professionals', students, among other people that tell relative experience to the world of the literacy in Portuguese language in the Community's of Countries of Portuguese Language countries.
Will be accepted lives’ histories that have between 5.000 and 10.000 characters with space to count from the first one to the last page.
The first page of the life’s history should contain the title of the life’s history; in Portuguese, in English and French (in bold, to the left), the author's of the life’s history name, the institutional name that the author's works for, the electronic address. The summary must have until 150 words of the author's curriculum, place in that it happened the described practice, the "papers" (students, teachers, coordinators, among other) of the people involved in the same, summary and abstract of the life’s history with up to 150 words and from three to five word-key, in Portuguese, English and French, of the correspondent material.

 

General editorials norms and rules for ALL of the modalities of collaboration

The bibliographical citations inserted in the own text should be placed between quotation marks or in an indented paragraph and without quotation marks, with the author’s name at the end of the citation in the following way: (WINNICOTT, 1983, p. 12).

The footnotes should be numbered and should appear on the same page which they appear, single spaced, Times New Roman 8, justified text.

Only submissions that conform to the following format will be considered for publication:

– Word format .
– 4,5 cm top and left margin and 3,5 cm bottom and right margin.
– Font: Times New Roman 12;
– Paper size: A4;
– Line Spacing: 1,5.
– Justified text.
– Titles and subtitles should be written in bold.
– With the title "bibliographical References", present, in alphabetical order, ONLY publications cited in the body of your text, in the end of the sent text, in agreement with the following norms:

Books (single author):
FREIRE, Paulo (1986). Pedagogy of the Oppressed. São Paulo: Brasiliense.
Books( up to three authors):

Criteria for approval and revision of the collaborations

 

• Article submissions to the Electronic Magazine – “Welcoming the Literacy in the Countries of Portuguese Language”. The article will be submitted to two members of the editorial body of the magazine: one of them belonging to the magazine’s Editorial Council; and the other, the Editorial Committee. We employ a system of blind review, n which both authors and consultants remain anonymous.

 

Submissions to the journal can be:

a . Rejected;

b. Accepted without revisions.

c. Accepted with revisions.

 

In the case of conflicting reviews, a third evaluator will be invited to decide the matter.
Only the articles will be submitted to two reviewers. The other collaborations will be submitted to only one reviewer.

 

Final observations:

 

• Submissions can be written in the following languages: Portuguese language (preference is given to these articles); English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. When in Portuguese, the official linguistic norms and rules in the country of origin will be respected.
• The authors, when sending a work for consideration of this journal consent that eventual orthographic subjects are solved by its editorial body editorial decisions to be taken by the editorial committee?...
• The conception, the development, the form and the composition of each article are of their authors' responsibility.

• Messages, manifestations, suggestions, subjects, among other manifestation forms, can be sent for authors, editors, editorial council and commission in "Speaks with to us".

• When sending your articles for the appreciation of this editorial body, authors guarantee that these works are unpublished.
• In the event that the submission is accepted by the Editorial Council and Commission, the authors agree to transfer the copyrights for the Electronic Magazine – “Welcoming the Literacy in the Countries of Portuguese Language”.
