This journal, with biannual publication, is a vehicle to disseminate academic’s research papers. The same is composed predominantly of articles resulting from original research. Besides these works, other original and signification contributions are welcome (interviews, testimonials, reviews and abstracts) to the area of literacy/ literacy for children, youth and adults in countries whose official language is Portuguese. This journal has as its main objective to sensitize undergraduates and teachers in elementary and high school also to create interest in research of this area of knowledge, as well as the habit of reading and the production of scientific texts.
............With the goal of establishing a dialogue between pairs so as the dialogue with non-academic community, this period provides a "contact us", through which, criticism, praise, debate, among other posts, can approach the Journal's readership.
............The journal Acolhendo a alfabetização em países de língua portuguesa involves units of the University of São Paulo (USP), several national and international universities and institutions, all with the objective of strengthening the tripod that has guided the publication of this journal: research, teaching and extension. Thus, the magazine aims to reinvent within democratic parameters, the bond that historically unites the Americas, Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe.
............In addition to works written in Portuguese, we also accept written productions in Spanish, French, English and Italian. When it is written in Portuguese, our journal will respect the cultural norms of the new Portuguese Spelling Agreement.
............The journal Acolhendo is the result of a partnership between the Faculty of Education at the University Eduardo Mondlane (Maputo – Mozambique), represented by the professor Deborah Nandja, and the Faculty of Education, University of São Paulo (São Paulo - Brazil), represented by Professor Nilce da Silva in the public notice pro- Africa (2004 – 2010) CNPq. Upon the termination of the partnership in 2010, this journal continued to be issued as a publication of the University of São Paulo.
............At the moment, the journal Acolhendo receives support from CNPq, the USP Library system (USP) and Dean of extension and culture at USP. This being evaluated by SciELO and received B2 in education area; B3, in letters and in interdisciplinary mode by CAPES.
